Religions of the world – Key Beliefs
1. Christianity
·
Jesus Christ is the messiah or the savior of
human-kind
·
Christians follow the 10 Commandments
2. Judaism
·
Jewish people are waiting for the messiah
·
They believe they are the ‘chosen people’
because of their covenant (agreement) with God.
3.
The 5 Pillars of
Islam:
· Allah is the only god
· pray 5 times a day
· give alms to the needy
· observe Ramadan
(fasting ritual)
· At least once in your life go on a pilgrimage to Mecca
4. Hinduism

Believe that your
positive and negative actions will be added up to determine your fate (karma)

Believe in
reincarnation (you will come back to life in a different form)
5. Buddhism

Believe the way to end suffering is through
the 8 Fold Path
