Humanities 8

Today we meditated instead of silent reading.  Then we discussed the golden rule and how all the major religions preach the same message:  treat others the way you would like to be treated.  We also continued with the notes from the previous day's post and added Taoism (see below).  We had a great discussion about why there are wars and religious tolerance/intolerance.

Taoism

·       Tao – means “the way”

·       Yin and yang – unity with opposites

·       harmony with nature and meditation important

First Nations 12

Today we discussed the invitation extended to the Pope to visit 2 reserves and the downtown Eastside of Vancouver.  Next we went over the last test in preparation for the test on chapter 3 tomorrow!! We also went over the potlatch questions that were due yesterday.  The rest of the time, students worked on there review assignment which is due tomorrow before the test!

Today was the test on short stories.  The rest of the time, students read or were asked to work on their creative writing portfolio.
